The winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race season two was arrested on an assault charge… this following a claim that he was roughed up by a security guard.
According to TMZ, James Ross, whose drag name is Tyra Sanchez, said he was in Virginia Beach signing autographs at the Rainbow-Cactus Company when a man began heckling him. When he went to calm the gentlemen, Ross claims that a security guard grabbed and slammed him on the ground before putting him in handcuffs.
But the story doesn’t end there. After Ross went to the police to press charges against the venue, he discovered there was a warrant out for his arrest. As a result, he turned himself in and was sprung after posting his bond. Ross still plans to press charges against the Rainbow-Catcus, which has yet to give a statement…. the struggle for equality continues.
